Simple and delicious at it’s finest. A good bowl of bean soup does something for you that words just can’t describe. A true staple in our home and on the menu most days as either a main dish, side and sometimes an appetizer, beans soup satisfies!
There are unlimited possibilities for this recipe, but this one is simple and oh so delicious. Beans, butter, seasoning, water and a touch of brown sugar to help develop that creamy base. You can definitely add an onion, fresh garlic, chopped celery and even carrots. I also like to add a bay leaf sometimes for extra flavor.
The possibilities of where you can take this recipe are endless. I like to cook mine in a crockpot when I can. I often double the recipe and it all fits into a 6 quart one perfectly. You can also make this in your instant pot for a faster cook time!
