I am always looking for creative ways to display my photos on the wall besides using a traditional frame so when I learned that you could make your own canvas print at home with just a few items, I couldn’t wait to try it. Not only is this tutorial super easy, but it is incredibly affordable and costs way less than ordering them online.
For this DIY, you will need:
- An 8×10 Canvas (You can also use a larger or smaller size. Just be sure your image is at least an inch larger on each side)
- craft knife (or scissors)
- Foam brush (or paint brush)
- Mod Podge
- 8.5X11 photo printed using a laser printer
Steps:
Start by brushing an even coat of your Mod Podge onto your canvas.
Place the side with glue onto your face down photo on your work surface. You can use a credit card to smooth the surface from below to ensure that the photo paper is sticking to the canvas.
Using your craft knife or scissors, cut the corners of your photos so that you can have neat corners on your canvas after glueing.
Add glue to the edges and wrap the canvas. Should look like the image below.
Lastly, brush another coat of your Mod Podge on the surface and on the sides of your wrapped canvas. Allow to dry overnight before hanging.
The best thing about this DIY is that it took no time at all to assemble and they look amazing once dry.
