Peach Upside Down Cake

Peach Upside Down Cake

A classic cake with a not so classic twist. You won't miss the pineapples and cherries. Trust me!

  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1/3 cup packed brown sugar
  • 4 large fresh peaches

  • 1 1/3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/3 cup butter
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 1 egg

  1. Heat oven to 350°. In 9-inch square pan, melt butter the pan in oven. Sprinkle brown sugar evenly over melted butter. Arrange peach halves over brown sugar.

  2. In mixer bowl, beat remaining ingredients on low speed for 30 seconds, scraping bowl after. Beat on high speed for 3 minutes. Scrape bowl occasionally if needed. Pour batter over peaches.
  3. Bake 50 to 55 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Immediately place serving plate upside down over pan then turn plate and pan over. Leave pan over cake for about 5 minutes so brown sugar/butter mixture can drizzle over cake. Remove pan and enjoy!
